How to change the spacing between bars

Make use of separation techniques to make bars appear thinner or thicker, or to help users distinguish between series for accessibility reasons. Spacing between segments means users don’t have to just rely on just color to understand which category is which.

In bar and column charts, you can increase the space between bars and between segments in a stack. Compare these two visualizations, for example:

Go to the "Bars" settings

Increase or decrease the settings in "Spacing (main)" and "Spacing (in stack)". Note "Spacing (in stack)" has a maximum of 1 in order to avoid your bars growing taller than the axis indicates.
