How to add a graph to a bar chart race timeline
Adding a graph to your timeline can give a categorical overview of developments over time. Users can also explore interesting data points by clicking on them in the graph jump to that point in time.
To add a graph to your timeline:
- 1
- Make sure that you have assigned a column under the Category settings in the Data tab. If you don't have a separate column for categories, bind the column that you have used for Labels.
-
- 2
- Go to the Graph settings within the Timeline & animation settings and select Show.
-
- 3
- You can also change the background color of the timeline and the graph, and switch between curved and straight lines.
- 4
- To change the height of your graph, scroll up a bit to the top of the Timeline & animation settings and change the height using the Graph height setting. For example, the graph above has a height of 10.
