How to use Flourish and Canva to enhance your digital projects

- To add your chart to Canva directly from Flourish, click on the Export & publish button in the right-hand corner of the editor, and select Add to a Canva presentation.
- To add Flourish charts within the Canva app, you need to install the Flourish app.
To install the Flourish app, open an existing Canva design or create a new one. Then, from the panel on the left-hand side, choose Apps and search for Flourish. The extension should pop up and prompt you to connect both tools. Once you do this, you should have access to all of your Flourish visualizations straight away and can drop them into any Canva design.
TIP: You can add both published and unpublished Flourish projects to Canva.

Create a dashboard using Flourish charts
If you are just starting with Flourish, you should be aware that the tool's real power is in data storytelling. However, sometimes all you need is to see KPIs and stats at a glance, almost as if you are looking at a dashboard.
The GIF above uses a Canva website template with three Flourish visualizations added – a Gantt chart, as well as a donut and a stacked column chart. Read more about our Line, bar, pie template here.

Use autoplaying Flourish stories instead of GIFs
Creating the perfect GIF that's both high-quality and small in size can be very time-consuming. Fortunately, Flourish suggests a much easier alternative to regular videos or GIFs – autoplaying and looping stories! See an example of an autoplaying story below:
To use autoplaying stories in Canva projects:
TIP: If you are using the autoplaying story as a GIF alternative, make sure that you have turned on the Loop option. For best results, you can also disable the story navigation.
NOTE: Please note that this method of replacing GIFs is only suitable for online presentations. Downloading your Canva project that contains autoplaying stories as a PDF, GIF or mp4 would not export the Flourish visualization.
